Abstract
This paper critically and polemically examines and interprets poetic and culturological features of the newer Serbian poetry (belonging to the second and third decades of the 21st century) and possible causes and incentives for their emergence. Within the current output of the younger generation of poets, one might observe a new poetic paradigm which is based on the abandonment of poetic devices (above all the metaphor), declarative rhetoric, an ideological, i.e., engaged component, a tendency towards shocking the reader and so on, all of which contributes more or less to the flattening of the aesthetic plane. Additionally, it is important to consider the way these developments are affected and exacerbated by the ever more popular creative writing courses and workshops, as well as the way both authors and certain newer publishing houses use this new paradigm to profile their presence on the literary market (which nevertheless often exceeds the literary).
